Wogs in Practice presents a 3 part documentary, 3 part performance video.
The piece proposes to highlight the incongruities between the genuine article and the imitation. This is demonstrated by a comparison of the 'authentic immigrant' (first and second generation Italians) with the 'natural born' (Australian-born descendant) through a mimicry of the former by the latter.
Although this piece is a long way from completion, I would also like to produce an accompanying part, titled Wogs In Theory, which will consider public perceptions of immigrant identity and assimilation.
